Not only do you get a nicer finished product using a Carrier Sleeve you can extend the life of your Machine: A Carrier Sleeve is a folded piece of card stock that is coated (to prevent sticking) that you place your pouch in before it goes into your machine. Every time you use your laminator, the machine emits heat so that the adhesive resins in the pouch melts to encapsulate your document. As the document makes its way through the machine, adhesive resins can ooze out of the pouch and coat the gears and rollers. Over time, the adhesive can build up and make the machine harder to use. With the Adhesive build up you could experience a lot of pouch jams. A jam is when the pouch becomes wrapped around the machine’s rollers. It can take time and be frustrating to clear up a jam.
